Lynchburg City Schools – Since 2009 I have been serving on several education committees where my knowledge of real estate has been beneficial. I serve as 2009 – 2013 Chairman of Building Grounds for Paul Munro Elementary School. As Chairman I am working to raise funds to renovate our playground and playground equipment, which will cost about $300,000. Next, I worked directly with the City Superintendent of Schools to receive $1.5M for deferred maintenance for all our schools. Finally, I am President-Elect for Paul Lawrence Dunbar Middle School of Innovation. This is an awesome school. I just met with the Virginia Secretary and Under Secretary of Education because of the number of awards our teachers and students have won this past year. Currently, we have the Virginia Teacher of the Year and the McGlothlin Science Teacher of the Year. This past year also brought several national awards to teachers and students for the theatrical production of Flat Stanley.
